On April 9th 2016 the Sussex County Phoenix Awards Ceremony was held at the Roxana Vol. Fire Company to recognize the those who survived a near death cardiac event out of hospital and those first responders who helped save them.
The Phoenix Award is named for the mythical bird that is reborn from the ashes. Just like the mythical bird these survivors have survived and were at the awards as well and not only got to thank the first responders that helped them but also received a limited edition Phoenix pin symbilizing they are survivors.
