On Monday February 15th at approximately 1930 hours, the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm with a water flow alarm. Captain M. Magee arrived on scene in the Duty Officer vehicle and established command with a 4-story multi-family building with active audio/visual alarms and a water bell. Crews from Tower 90 and Engine 90-4 investigated the cause of the water flow. During the investigation a broken riser pipe serving the stairwell sprinklers was found. Crews isolated the sprinkler system and provided salvage operations that included water removal from 3 units. Crews operated for about 1.5 hours before turning the scene over to property management.
