Technical Rescue

On Monday August 7th at approximately 1630 hours the Roxana Vol. Fire Company, SCEMS and the Sussex County Technical Rescue Team were dispatched for a "High Angle Rescue". 90-8 responded with Assistant Chief M. Magee and was advised that the subject was trapped in a chemical storage tank. Upon arrival he established Command and verified the report with no injuries. Crews from Engine 90-5, Rescue 90, Engine/Tanker 90-4, B-90, SCEMS 105, Fire Police arrived on scene and were able to stabilize/secure the patient until the arrival of the Tech Rescue Team. Crews assisted multiple Tech Rescue team members with the removal of the patient with the use of ropes and rigging. EMS evaluated the patient and transported to the local medical facility. 

Crews operated on scene for approximately 1.5 hours. While units were on scene Millville provided a single engine stand-by and handled an AFA in the 90 local.  Many thanks to all parties involved and responding agencies.
